June 14 will be World Blood Donor Day
On the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day, Tuesday, June 14 p.v., at 7:30 p.m., will be held in Rome at theSMIH Auditorium located at Viale delle Mura Gianicolensi 67, the concert of gospel music and spirituals “Blood has no color” organized by the Salvator Mundi International Hospital, from 7 Hills Gospel Choir and from the Scopelliti-Ugolini Study, to thank the many volunteers who periodically, anonymously and free of charge, with their gesture ensure self-sufficiency nationwide.
The event, sponsored by the Federal Gospel Choirs, from theLazio Regional Avis, from’Avis Provincial of Rome and theAvis Comunale Roma, with the participation of theADMO Lazio Region (Bone Marrow Donor Association) and theAIDO – Lazio Regional Council (Italian Association of Organ Donors) is organized on June 14, the birthday, back in 1868, of the discoverer of blood groups Karl Landsteiner, to which the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2004 dedicated, precisely, the occasion.
The project “Blood has no color”, carried out with great commitment by Avis, aims to promote the culture of donation among immigrant communities in the Roman territory, through information and awareness-raising work that helps to overcome information barriers and possible cultural prejudices.
